Learn Academy is looking for a School Site Administrator for our site in San Gabriel, CA. 

 

The salary starts at $90,000 per year. 

 

Beach Cities Learning/Learn Academy, a Learn It Family of Companies division, is a certified K -12 Private Day School approved by the California Department of Education to provide Special Education Services for the following disability categories:  Autism (A), Emotional Disability and Emotional Disability-Private (ED) (ED-P),Developmental Delay (DD), Mild Intellectual Disability (MIID), Moderate Intellectual Disability (MOID),Orthopedic Impairment (OI), Other Health Impaired (OHI), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI),Visually Impaired (VI), and Speech-Language Impairment (SLI).

 

Beach Cities Learning/Learn Academy utilizes a highly-structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program that teaches students Academic, Social/Emotional Problem-Solving and Strategies. All BCL/LA teachers and support staff are trained in a unique methodology that assists students with maintaining Positive Choice-Making.

 

The Site Administrator will work in a school-based setting and are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an individual instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with policies.

Responsibilities

The Site Administrator assists with overseeing and is part of a private special education day school team. This team works with school districts to deliver the highest-quality services to students with special needs. As an Assistant Site Administrator, you will be using your background to support a team of Clinical Supervisors, Special Education Teachers and Behavior Technicians in many facets of our program including; Clinical Program, Curriculum/Instruction, and Special Education Services. You will be supported by a Site Administrator, Regional Director and Executive Director of the program, a team of several educators and technicians would report to the Site Administrator.  

 

The Site Administrator will be a part of a team that assist with working with students with social, emotional and behavioral needs by providing oversight to clinical program implementation, classroom management, curriculum and instructional practices, Special Education compliance and mentoring of employees. This position assists with overseeing several classrooms which consist of a special education teacher and one to three behavior technicians and a clinical supervisor. Additional duties include assisting with collaboration and maintaining relationships with clients and districts, assist with managing all Special Education meetings, ensure compliance with all Special education policies and procedures, consulting with the staff and district personnel, assist with managing enrollment and reintegration activities, provision of professional development activities for employees, effective communication with parents and all clientele, ensuring instruction and curricular implementation is aligned with our values, and general supervision of the program. Overseeing online programs and collaborating with vocation coordinators to assist students with job opportunities and or post-secondary schooling.  Support with Waves incentive planning.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Master Degree or enrollment in a Master program preferred.
  • Experience as an educator in a population similar to the students of Beach Cities Learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and motivate others.
  • Good oral, written, interpersonal and organizational communication skills to manage multiple priorities and requests.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse populations and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of independence, initiative, tact and good judgment.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to principals, classroom teachers, and parents
  • Must be able to teach all basic skills and interact with students, parents and administrators
  • Strong administrative and computer skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Organized and detailed oriented

  • Must be able to adhere to a consistent schedule
  • Effective communication in both oral and written
  • Collaborate and able to receive to feedback, mentoring and direction from peers and supervisors
  • Maintain a professional and clinical perspective at all times, able to not internalize or personalize (e.g. emotionally) in regards certain student behaviors or mannerisms that occur 

Certifications/Licensures

  • Current California "IVP" DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card is required and/or Background Check for State of Ca
  • Safety Care Certification a plus 

Physical requirements: The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods of time 
  • Must be willing and able to implement safety measures consistent with Safety Care Crisis
  • Management such as: therapeutic holds and transportation procedures utilizing quick body movements in the course of maintaining the safety of students with special needs.

Compensation Range

$90,000 - $105,000 / year
